Travel Warhammer

11

Making travel size gaming board from scratch

Is making a travel size version of Warhammer a good idea?  You bet it is, it’s not always simple though.

I love to travel, I also love wargames like BattleTech and Battlefleet Gothic, in this video project I combine both to make an epic scale travel Warhammer board.

This board was inspired by watching the incredible Bill Making Stuff. Who got me to thinking there is no way I can take a gaming table with me everywhere I go, but I can take a small travel case.

I just happened to have a travel case for a set of paints and so my journey to make a travel size version of Warhammer began.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing, turns out the mins are very small and obviously I made the board completely from scratch, which meant making it up as I went along.Taking an old wooden box that used to hold oil paints, painting it and converting it into a gaming board.

In the video you will see how to make a hex board, how to make 3d terrain out of foam, how to make and paint tiny scale minis and best of all how to make the whole lot travel safe.

You can view the full video on Youtube here if you would rather see a more traditional mini painting video check out this one.

You can find the full instructions in the video and underneath the video you will find a link to all the products used.

Clicking those links is an amazing way to support me as a creator and best of all it doesn’t cost anything. it really does make a huge difference and I am very grateful.
